Synopsis
For a Moment, Freedom is a highly political and truthful film which liberates the fate of refugees from the anonymity of newsreels. It is a moving plea for the right of every person to a life of self-determination.
For a Moment Freedom tells its different stories without pointing the moral finger – and precisely for this reason it also refers directly to our own lives. We are no longer just an audience; instead we are called upon to display tolerance, solidarity and shared humanity. –Schwerin Film Festival
Fast-moving and packed with action, For a Moment Freedom tells the odyssey of three Iranians groups of refugees: a married couple with a child, two young men with two children, and two men who are friends despite the differences between them.
They have all managed to escape from Iran and Iraq, but now they are stuck in the Turkish capital; although freedom is at last almost within their grasp, first they have to wait in a dubious hotel, hoping each day that their applications for asylum will be approved.

In this new context, Arash T. Riahi's "Pour Un Instant: La Liberté" aka "For a Moment: Freedom" refreshingly combines creative ambition with a bold political as well as humanistic message that can leave no viewer indifferent. It will certainly contribute to a better understanding of ourselves as a community in exile while also strongly and generously echoing , the plight of our brave and heroic compatriots left behind, in their struggle back home, for democracy, human rights and freedom.
