The tribute this year is for Gohar Kheirandish, a legendary stage and screen actress who will be present on Saturday, September 26 at 7:45 pm.
Among the highlights are Mohsen Makhmalbaf's latest film, The President, the story of an imaginary place, which its President is on the run with his five-year-old grandson following a coup d’état.
And also Bahman Ghobadi's latest film, Words with Gods, an exploration of the relationship between different cultures and religion.
The U.S. premiere of Taboo directed by Khosro Masoumi, is the story of a 67 years old Iranian landowner in spite of having 3 legal wives is pushing one of his workers — who has a beautiful 24 years old daughter [played by Elnaz Shakerdoost] — to force her into marrying him. Beautifully shot against the Iranian landscape in Northern Iran.
