Mini biography

Susan Taslimi was born and educated in Iran. She studied acting and direction at the university of Teheran and graduated 1973. She started her career within the movie industry in 1980. During her years, she had a close cooperation with one of Iran's most prominent direcors, Bahram Bezai, but after some time they were forbidden to work together.

Some of Taslimi's films were forbidden while others were successes at international film festival. Her strong women's portraits, open critisism and her refusal to take part in propaganda films made her a freedom symbol for a large part of the Iranian community, but in 1987 she was forced to escape her country. She came to Sweden and took part in several theatre productions and seminars on acting as well as produced scripts and tought acting. ALL HELL LET LOOSE is Susan Taslimi's feature film debut as a director.
